iv'e read a bit about holloween; it seems it first started in england centuries ago. with poor workers, or surfs taking a day to hound their lords or landowners etc. to give them a little extra pay. by masking thier faces and making lots of noise, etc. infront the lords house till the bosses gave out some food, etc. to appease the workers. as i see it , it was a form of protest. to keep the poor happy. john

Still prejudiced towards Halloween

it was always "satan's holiday" that i still tell my friends that i probably won't participate in the festivities when i decide to have children.. what do you guys do about this issue?

i only hope this father gets 50 years in jail and the mother gets 49 years. and the indian gov't shuts down the wt there. i fact the gov't should arrest all the jw's at the local branch office , and give them all 50 years in prison and then invite the govern body in brooklyn to take their place in prison. i'll bet the wt leaders would not go and take thier place. what hypocrites. all the wt leaders should be taken to the hospital and have their wrists slit. just to see haw many would beg for mercy and blood?

i was never a jw. but been around it for 35 years. never even much interested, 5 years ago when i got separated from my wife. i went to live with dad (jw). out of work and out of a wife at the time. dad told me all my problems were because i wasn't a jw. he was pushing hard, and i started reading some of the mag's. right away i was questioning him on some of the wacky statements they print. for the first few weeks he would win any arguement i came up with. then came a wt article about the 1919 and 1922 conventions. i had no idea what they were teaching at the time. and to my amazement neither did he. he could not produce one wt book or mag from the time. this peaked my interest. he told me to look up any thing i wanted at the kh. they had nothing to hide... so i went to a couple of halls, and found next to nothing before 1940-1950. next i tried the local public library. again nothing. i asked the librarian for help, she directed me to the p.c.'s there and told me to search for jw.'s. in less than 2 hours i learns a bit about 1925 and printed it out. dad started FUMING when i got home ,and showed him what i found in short order. i asked him were was his research in the last 35 years? in typical jw fashion he would change the subject, and give me another hurdle to jump over. i became a regular at the library. This went on for a few months, till he was losing next to every arguement. i even found a hall with a lot of older wt books. the new wt's were glorifing. he was even losing bible arguements with me and i never really read much of the bible before. the ULTIMATUM, came after i blew him and most of his jw's friends out. he started calling the police on me to get me out of the house. telling them i was getting in the way of his freedom of religion. it didn't work as i was a legal resident, even tho he called the cops on me over 20 times. the last straw was when a few times he tried to beat me up. i was about 38 yrs old . i walked away the first few times. trying to show respect. one day i came home, and dad showed me a court order to get me out of the house. we got into an arguement. and he tried to block the door, saying now he's going to get me to go to jail for 1 year as per the court order. this time when he put his hands on me. i did what i had to do. and got out of the house before the cops came. everything my dad did was under the directions the local elders etc. all for the simple reason that none of them could back up most any wt teaching. i lived out of the back seat of my car for the next 4-5 months found a job ,and got my own place. the wt teaches jw's to preach things they can't back up. when someone takes up the challange, the jw will do anything to defend thier idol in brooklyn. it's sad, i had a good relationship with my dad, till the day i took him took him up on his challange. had i known then what the outcome would be. that jw's can't accept facts and truth . i might have let dad think he is holier than thou. sorry for the rant... john

i'm hoping this is new ,news. this story has been around for about 4 years , and it was not only the wt to be taxed, but about 170 other non for profit churches and or org.s to the best of my understanding the wt had about 10 years to show the french gov't . what kind of charity work they do. and how they use their $$$$$$ for these purposes. since the wt does no real charity work , they spent the last 10 years in the french courts, trying to bamboozle the gov't. then moved all there printing presses out of france , to britian etc. i would guess if the wt spent the money ,they spent fighting the french gov't in court . on charity work . they never would had to go to court. so they dug their own graves. and who said the french ain't too smart. john

since it seems silent lambs is involved, i'm sure they will present the court scores, of other cases which the wt tried to hide behind some kind of legal loop hole the wt has been using to get out of all this. i learned as a teenager, the judge,court gets tired of seeing you , i think the courts are getting tired of seeing the wt in court for the same thing over and over. it's only a matter of time. and time is running out for the wt to keep fooling the courts. john

i like letterman , he can be offbeat. he's gotten a little wilder since he had that heart attack. paul scheffer sucks. i like the way letterman lets some of the stage hands into some of his skits. shows he's not so stuck up . leno is just a funny guy. and on any night he can make you laugh i love when leno asks questions in the street ie who was the first president... lol these guys are funny . conan is not funny , he says the same thing every night. we really have a great show tonigh. conan tries to hard to be funny, the more he tries the more stupid he looks. there has to be someone better than conan he's a b comic at best. it will be a sad day in late night t.v. if conan takes over from carson and leno

RR ; yopu have a very pridefull haughty attitude. and i don't think i need to tell you what the bible says about that. your saying that you only assocate with concerated christians. is just a cheap cop out. just a jw tactic that you think your a christian and i'm not, using different words. and no i don't think your my brother, imo anyone that goes out on a limb to defend any religious org. man, church etc. in the manner as you do , doesn't put his trust in christ first. but trusts in a man or org first. to guide him the way you defend ctr is no different than a jw defending the wt. it's very clear and i'm sure everyone here can see that. your story about your childhood in the bx don't faze me. i did all that stuff back in the 70's, but i grew up and became a good citizen. talking with me won't remind you of the savage skulls,fordham baldies or black spades. inviting me to a bible student convention , is like a jw inviting me to the kingdom hall. i know the whole program. i ask a few questions and i get bombarded answers i would have to do years of research to test when i was a kid in the 60's and 70's the jw's tried to ram their shit down my throat. i knew it was all bullShit from the word go. but couldn't prove it. btw i lucked out when my dad became a jw. i was just about old enough not to have to go that much. thanks mom. when i started researching the wt about 5 years ago. it was mostly russells, and rutherfrauds, teaching . that told me straight out these people are nothing but cheap jive ass niggers. you know the type don't you. i spent a few weeks at the 42nd street library reading studies in the scriptures, and old wt's . before i had a computer. ctr was some great con man. even the wt today still glorifies him. my dad didn't want any part of any of the research i did. even the wt today knows better than to quote anything more than a few lines from ctr. they know it's all old light, and old light is nothing more than darkness. no RR i don't desire any longer to talk with you or meet you . it would be like trying to reason with a jw in reverse or in a time warp just like talking with some jw from romania, that is still following the teaching of rutherford, since thoses were the last wt books they recieved once the iron curtain fell. it's great to have you here on this forum, for rersearch purposes, as you have so many old books. your idolization of the so called bible student is a whole other story. wishing you freedom in christ. john
